A Yogi Rises: A Newbie’s Tale In 4 Acts
This is a guest post from a Phyzz friend who, as you’ll soon read, just signed up for a Kundalini workshop at Samadhi Yoga, where all of us at Phyzz have trained. She’s graciously volunteered to document her experience, which I think will be a fascinating ride for all of us. Enjoy this newbie’s tale in [...]

When The Universe Speaks at Me | A Guide for the Overwhelmed | ThinkSimpleNow.com
A Guide for the Overwhelmed | ThinkSimpleNow.com .As a self-proclaimed, multitasking, jack-of-all-trades (I’m thinking about something else as I type this, so there!), this article from one of my favorite blogs, Tina Su’s Think Simple Now caught my eye in my ever-burgeoning stack of RSS feeds. This post is actually written by Ralph Jean-Paul, who I [...]

Elegant and Eloquent: President Obama’s Video Message to Iran
The occasion of today’s Equinox is shared with Iranian New Year, Nowrūz. President Obama delivers this New Year message to the Iranian people on a day that appropriately marks new beginnings. In the video he address our equality as humans in the eyes of the Cosmos by quoting the poet, Saadi: “The children of Adam [...]

Vegan Score: Curd is the Word
Here’s a shout-out to my good friend Anika’s freshly-born blog, Vegan Score. Her mission is to uncover and share all of the fun vegan goods that she stumble upon (and apparently she does mean “stumble”) in and around Seattle. Peep her latest entry on Vegan cottage cheese. That’s right, I said “vegan” and “cottage cheese” [...]

A bit far down the line, but: National Institutes of Health (NIH) Yoga Week!
Amazing: a bunch of yoga blogs out there like emindful are talking about the upcoming NIH Mind/Body Week in September of 2009. And why shouldn’t they be! From September 8-11, 2009, the NIH will hold its second annual Yoga Week, a 4-day FREE (that’s right, FREE) series of events open to the public. (Ssshhh, don’t tell them that [...]

Uncluttered Vision
I heart this: Readability – An Arc90 Lab Experiment. I just learned about Readability from one of my favorite blogs, Unclutterer. It’s a bookmark that you can drag onto your browser toolbar to automatically “tune out” the visual noise of ads. This allows you to focus on reading JUST the relevant content (that’s “words” in non-webspeak) that [...]

NEW: Get Emailed Phyzz Blog Posts
Ok, I’ll admit it. I am a geek. Geek blood runs through my veins. So I use an RSS Reader (that stands for “Really Simple Syndicating”, just ask Wikipedia) to read all my favorite blogs. Because I use MS Outlook (*ducks*) it essentially looks and feels like new posts are being emailed to me. There’s [...]

40 Days Without Breathing
Yogoer is a cool New York-based website that let users search for yoga, dance, pilates, or fitness centers. This is a cool article on how the author committed to and employed a bandha and pranayama (breathing with retention) practice for 40 days. My favorite quote: “A steady practice works you like water in canyons” Enjoy.

and now, a moment of geekiness
I just got this in the mail today, and I am sooper impressed with the sound! I have been looking for a set of good, portable ipod speakers that deliver the low-end, and after checking out a few options I settled on the iMainGo (in classic black) and am quite happy. Now I’ll go test [...]
