Seattle | Early Bird Walk and Talk with Short Meditation and Stretching – Biznik

Loving having these in my Tuesday routine. Check out the pic of peeps getting their stretch on! Seattle | Early Bird Walk and Talk with Short Meditation and Stretching – Biznik.

Hump Day Stretch and a Smoothie

Well y’all, it was bound to happen. Take the inspiration I draw from events like this one I did recently via locally-based indie-entrepreneur-focused networking site Biznik, sprinkle it with my love for and proximity of Healeo to my “office”, add a dash of locally-flavored support, and you get: I’ve decided to start a Wednesday morning [...]

Damsel In Dessert Distress Rescued By Social Media

Picture it: Seattle, 2009, a sunny, gorgeous day gives way to a beautiful evening. The streets of Capitol Hill are filled with dinner-goers just finishing up their meals and leisurely making their way homeward. It’s just about 9, and when you’re still walking around, belly full and without a sweater on a night like this [...]

Phyzz’s Cover Girl (?!?) Benefits Dress for Success and YES

Holy stage-fright, Batman! Karen has been selected to be The Face for the first From the Pages of Converge Event: a live experiential magazine-style show! The event’s mission, among other things, is “to give the community an opportunity to get a sneak peak at the most innovative businesses.” Here’s a blurb from the press release: Little Black Dress [...]

Pema Chodron is coming to Seattle from July 10-12 to teach from her book, No Time To Lose, which addresses one of the most important spiritual questions - how to free ourselves from the powerful spell of disturbing emotions. Karen has been invited, along with a few other yoga teachers around the country and from Canada, to [...]

Office Envy: Projectline Rocks Wellness For Its Employees

Two weeks ago I returned to Projectline Services, my beloved company where I used to work and left last summer to teach yoga full time (that’s me in the headstand under the “Work Environment” section on their website!). I was invited back to teach two classes for their Annual Wellness Fair. Check out the reminder [...]

Cute Overload Warning: Cutest puppy ever meets the most patient cat ever!

This kitty rules. This puppy rules. Need I say more? We learn so much from the animals, including the art of gargantuan patience. Please enjoy some cute yoga! Also, I’ve used the song that is playing in the background in many a yoga class playlist mix. Now, the name of the song is on the [...]

Breast Cancer Benefit Bachelorette Party

On June 4th, Phyzz donated a class to the silent auction at Beyond the Boa: Seattle’s Largest Bachelorette Party, hosted by the fine folks at A Grand Wedding. (Thanks Georgie!) All proceeds went to benefit Brides Against Breast Cancer, whose mission is to fulfill wishes for metastatic breast cancer patients. The event was held at the Alexis [...]

Ask The Yogi about Breathing, or: Yet Another Yogic Star Wars Reference

Greetings from the “Ask the Yogi” Department!! This is quite a belated response to a question posed by a student back in March: “I often find myself wanting to use yoga breathing techniques at certain stressful times in my day. For instance, when I’m angry, anxious, tired, or tense. Are there different techniques that work [...]
