Damsel In Dessert Distress Rescued By Social Media

Picture it: Seattle, 2009, a sunny, gorgeous day gives way to a beautiful evening. The streets of Capitol Hill are filled with dinner-goers just finishing up their meals and leisurely making their way homeward.

It’s just about 9, and when you’re still walking around, belly full and without a sweater on a night like this in Seattle, that can mean only one thing: it’s time for DESSERT. Which, for the past several weeks in a row or so has meant the crowds line up around the block (literally) for a scoop of Molly Moon’s fantastic ice cream. Last week, Old School Frozen Custard opened up, which, one would think, would result in uniform queue defrayment at both establishments.

Not so much.

At this time on this evening, both places had lines out the door and down the curb for some ways, which left this yogi heading home, sweet tooth a bit downtrodden.

So I flip on the ol’ computer, fire up Twitter and the following dialogue between myself and my favorite local organic smoothie place that happens to serve fantastic hemp soft serve transpires:

hemp_soft_serve2

me (@phyzzyoga):really, cap hill? two long lines for frozen treats at 9 p.m.? what’s a gal gotta do to get some ice cream around here?

Healeo (@healeo): I would open up right now if you want ice cream. call me if you do. I live upstairs so its cool!

me: really?? got cookies, too?

Healeo: yup…just let me know when to be down there

Problem solved!

Wow! That’s sweet that he just opened the store right up for you! How do you find organic and healthy frozen yogurt places in you area? I’m very interested!

This one just plopped out of the sky and landed three blocks from me :) In Seattle, healthy and organic in general are quite plentiful. Frozen yogurt, I have yet to come across.
